VaporFi Express

VaporFi, the sister company of the popular e-cigarette company South Beach Smoke, is a brand that has been becoming more and more popular during recent years. As we rated South Beach Smoke with an average 4 out of 5, we didn’t expect much of VaporFi Express. But we were really impressed. Let’s have a look at the VaporFi Express review.

VaporFi has lots of other starter kits as well, but  in this e-cig product review, we wanted to focus on something that is really suitable for a beginner.

Priced at a competitive rate of $44.99, you will get your hands on a standard capacity “Mini” battery, a high-capacity battery, wall charger, USB charger. So, everything needed to get started except for the cartridges you should add to your order.

VaporFi Express Battery

A nice thing about the VaporFi Express e-cig battery is that you can choose the color and they don’t just have the generic normal cigarette-looking ones. You can make your choice from black, white and stainless steel. You could also choose them in standard and high-capacity, obviously the latter being the longer version of the two. The normal one or the “Mini” is said to give you at least 250 puffs. The high-capacity battery is said to give you at least 350 puffs. Did we get that many puffs out of it…?

We can pleasantly report that the high-capacity battery DID give us as many puffs as we had hoped for. We got between 300-350 puffs out of the high-capacity battery. If you want to know what this means, we took it off the charger at 7:00am, used it almost constantly until around 9:00am when we started work. Had a few stolen puffs on it when we could get away with it (because it still fitted nicely in our pockets, despite its high-capacity nature) plus half an hour to 45 minutes worth of chain-puffing at lunchtime. A few more stolen puffs throughout the afternoon until we finished work at around 6:00pm, headed home and used it pretty much constantly throughout the evening. We found that we needed to put it on charge at about 8/9pm at night.

The standard capacity battery wasn’t as impressive but still managed to give us a day at work out of it. As long as it was just stolen puffs throughout the day and a bit of chain-puffing at lunchtime, the standard “Mini” battery was enough. We generally found ourselves using the longer battery during the day and then, when the long one was put on charge in the evening, used the short one until we went to bed and took the long one back off charge again in the morning.

In short, this means that if you are buying VaporFi Express for your first electronic cigarette, then you will probably only need one long battery and one short battery if you are a “regular” user. If you are more of a heavier user, or are worried that you might use your e-cig quite a lot (for example, if you are only just making the switch from conventional cigarettes to e-cigarettes), you may want to get an extra short one but that’s probably all you’ll need.

Price

At $29.99, compared to other e-cigarettes, the VaporFi Expressdeal isn’t a bad one by any means. But there's a catch - no cartridges are included. You should certainly add these to your order, otherwise you can't do anything with your starter kit. Pre-filled cartridges cost $14.99 a five-pack and refillable ones (don't forget to buy the juice) cost $7.99.

VaporFi Express Cartridges

The next important bit, other than battery capacity and price, is the cartridges. You’re going to want to know how long they last, how good they are, plus what strengths and flavors they do, right?

The flavors are as follows:

  • 3 Tobacco Flavors (Classic, Royal Tobacco, Golden)
  • Menthol
  • Peppermint
  • Cherry
  • Vanilla
  • Peach
  • Coffee
  • Pina Colada

If you aren’t sure which ones are your favorite, you could always go for the 10-cartridge flavor sampler which gives you the option to try them all and pick your favorite.

It’s not a large selection of flavors, but these flavors are more than enough for most vapers (for example, we only use tobacco with all of our e-cigarettes).

Again, you have a number of strength options… The good thing is that besides Full, they have also Bold for the real nicotine addicts. So, the strengths are:

  • Zero
  • Ultra Light
  • Light
  • Full
  • Bold

You can’t forget about the VaporFlo cartridge technology that they offer you as well - this is meant to give you the best, smoothest throat hit and vapor flow, plus an easy draw that is pleasant for the user. Is that what we got…?

In short - yes. The draw was pleasant and smooth. The throat hit was neither too harsh nor too soft. The vapor that we exhaled was enough to trick our brains into thinking we were smoking a real cigarette and all in all, it was a joy to smoke.

The only downfall that we found about VaporFi Express electronic cigarettes was that the flavor in the cartridges didn’t last for very long. The cartridges would probably last you at least 6 hours or so but after 3 hours, we were finding the taste wasn’t that great any more. Nothing bad, but it starts to die out slowly. For the advanced users there’s a workaround for that – refilling the carts with your own juice.

Conclusion

VaporFi is a very good e-cigarette company and we had no problems with the ordering process therefore we cannot comment on their customer service experiences. However, from what we have tried and tested so far, there were a LOT of things that we enjoyed about VaporFi Express. This is such an enjoyable product with such a great price that despite the flavor issue and the rattling sound mentioned above, we have decided to give VaporFi Express 4.5 stars out of 5 in our review.
