Njoy

There are so many brands of electronic cigarettes out there and it can be hard to know where to start when it comes to buying one. These e-cig reviews should help you start off in the right direction, and for the purpose of this review, we will be taking a closer look at one of the popular brands of electronic cigarette - Njoy. It would appear that the company has undergone a rather dramatic overhaul and to say that it has left a bad taste in the mouths of many would be an understatement.

Once upon a time, Njoy was one of the best e-cigarettes and popular disposable vape on the market. It seems to be met by mixed reviews these days and it would appear that the radical change has seen the company and to be more precise, the quality of the electronic cigarette, go down alongside its prices...

Packaging

The slogan "The best thing about this cigarette.... It isn't one" is a slogan that certainly jumps out at you and it would seem as if this e-cig company had taken a clever approach to marketing. It looks just like a cigarette, it feels like a cigarette but it isn't a cigarette at all and, in fact, it is healthier for you. It is bound to get the attention from smokers all over the world, right?

Njoy has taken a rather old fashioned approach to the world of ecigs, choosing to make it as realistic as possible rather than focusing on jazzing things up as V2 Cigs has done with the female orientated e-cig called Vapor Couture. This realistic approach is something that once won them a pretty impressive fan base but now, it would appear that things have taken a turn for the worse.

It would seem that this company is one that is more often associated with disposables rather than rechargeable electronic cigarettes. They offer just one starter kit - the Rechargeable Express Kit at $21.99. That's the only option they offer and with this, you can expect to receive the following:

*1 x battery
*1 x cartridge
*1 x USB charger

Although the price is fairly low, it really isn't a starter kit to boast about. If you wanted to compare the cost of Njoy products with a starter kit such as Green Smoke, things are going to get a little pricey, especially when you consider that the lack of kits means that you will have to pay for everything individually.

Disposables seem to be the main focus of Njoy with a three pack setting you back around $27. $10 per disposable seems a tad pricey - that's basically what you would be spending if you were smoking normal cigarettes, although in fairness, these e-cigarettes are generally considered to be the healthier option of the two.

The electronic cigarette itself seemed to be made of poor quality. Once upon a time you would shave read rave reviews about the quality of their electronic cigarette but with the recent drop in prices, the quality seems to have dropped as well. When you consider that these e-cigs are still a tad on the higher priced side, it doesn't bode well for Njoy at all at this point.

Batteries

One new Njoy vape battery will set you back around $15 and they only offer one style, one length and one design. Again, when compared with the likes of the classic Green Smoke and technology-based White Cloud and Blu Cigs, it would appear that Njoy are a bit behind the times.

The battery is about 35% smaller than most other styles of electronic cigarette which meant that e charge it held wasn't great. In fact, we found that our battery for our new e-cig actually only lasted a couple of hours, not the two packets of cigarettes that it promised me. Technically, it should have lasted two days. In reality, it barely lasted two hours. A very disappointing turn out, even if we do say so ourselves.

Flavors & Cartridges

Once upon a time, Njoy had five different flavors. These days there are just two - menthol and traditional. That's it? Just two flavors? Well that's disappointing. Once again it would seem that Njoy is way behind the times.

There are four nicotine strengths available in the rechargeables:

*0%
*0.6%
*1.2%
*1.8%

In the disposable varieties, you will find that there are only two strengths available - 1.2% and 1.8%. Again, there are hardly a lot of options open to you here!

A packet of five cartridges will set you back around $22, which is very much on the higher priced side. This is not something that we were impressed with.

The good thing about Njoy is that the Vapor the e-cigarette produces is pretty impressive.... When it lasts. A we have already said the battery only lasts for a couple of hours rather then one to three days that the website actually states! Surely this company must realise that the battery is lasting well under par? On top of that, we found that the liquid had a nasty tendency of leaking from the cartridge into our mouths. This lead to a rather uncomfortable burning sensation and we didn't use it for very long. Just to give you some idea of perspective - it didn't just happen with every cartridge, it happened when at least three of the five cartridges that I personally tried. Al in all, it wasn't the nicest of experiences.

Warranty

With Njoy, you get a straight up one year warranty as long as the product was bought from a registered Njoy seller and it is returned to Njoy before it is tested and a replacement can be sent out. This means that you will need to buy a new battery before you can send the faulty one back, otherwise you will be down to one or zero batteries and you will be more likely to resort to smoking "real" cigarettes again. At least the company doesn't hide behind a weird version of a Lifetime Warranty; something that a lot of the other e-cigarette companies seem to have in common.

Added Extras

You can buy a new battery or a new charger - that's all you have in the accessories department. That's it? Once again this is very disappointing and we were not impressed. So far we have one starter kit, a rather expensive set of disposables, a nasty leak in our mouths and now there aren't even any accessories? Njoy - you are not doing very well!

There is also a recycling scheme that you can take advantage of, but only when you are using disposables. If you smoke eight and send them back, you will get one free. That means that you will have needed to spend almost $80 to get one $10 free e-cig.... It hardly seems worth it, especially when you consider how expensive smoking the disposables will be lasting just a couple of hours a piece.

The referral scheme means that when you refer someone else to Njoy, they will give you 10% off your next purchase, plus 10% off your friends first purchase also. It's not a bad idea but there are much better recycling schemes out there. V2 Cigs, for example, gives you a $15 voucher when a friend makes a purchase, and they get 15% off their purchase too. With the higher cost of Njoy's e-cigs, you would have thought that their referral scheme would have been more worth it?

Of course, if you are not happy with your Njoy electronic cigarette, you can always return the item within the first thirty days for a full money back guarantee that they offer. Unfortunately for the company, we used it....

In Conclusion

Njoy is a brand of electronic cigarettes that once lead the way but it would seem that they have fallen well behind the times, especially when you compare the website, product and kits that are offered by Njoy and then other e-cig companies. The good throat hit and vapor just wasn't enough to persuade us the higher prices were worth it, and when this was combined with the fact that they were still priced rather high, despite recently undergoing drops in the cost, the whole experience was a bit disappointing.
