V2 Cigs

UPDATE 2020! V2 Cigs is out of business. We suggest Mig Cigs instead. They are in a similar price range, but have even a better quality and have a wider range of products available. Read the review or visit Mig Cigs website.

V2 Cigs has some of the best looking electronic cigarette paraphernalia that we have seen. And they’ve got something for everyone, from a newbie to an advanced user:

  • Regular 2-piece cig-a-like
  • Advanced 2-piece design with a tank for liquid (the EX model)
  • Refillable mini tanks (the EX model)
  • Vaporizer system for advanced users (V2 Pro)

We tried them all and as you can read the reviews there is basically no reason why you should choose another brand. Well, except for one thing, which resulted in 4.5 out of 5 (not 5/5) – there are occasionally some problems with the customer service and delivery (wrong items sent or delays). But as V2 is the most popular e-cig brand on the web, they have huge amounts of orders to fulfill, so here is where the problems come in (not too often though). But to sum it up, we’d suggest:

This review covers the classic V2 Cigs.

We are impressed by silly things like the packaging but then again, aren’t all consumers? We loved the packaging that came with our V2 Cigs kit. We ordered the V2 Standard E-Liquid Starter Kit which currently retails for $59.95 and were very impressed by what we got.

In a large, sturdy, durable box, we found our goodies nicely placed in foam inserts:

  • 2 V2 Standard Batteries V2 Cigs Standard E-Liquid Kit
  • 2 V2 Platinum E-Liquid 25 ml Bottles
  • 1 Pack of EX Blanks (3 Blanks per Pack)
  • 1 Wall Adapter
  • 1 USB Charger
  • 1 User’s Manual

There are 2 other options available:

V2 Power-Cig at $19.95 – one V2 power-cig and five cartridges and one USB charger. It has no batteries so it is meant for a person who is mostly stationary at home or in the office.

V2 Standard Kit at $39.95 – two batteries (one manual, one automatic, both standard length) plus a USB charger, mains charger, ten flavor cartridges and a user’s manual.

When you look at some of the other e cigarette reviews on our site, the V2 Cigs prices aren’t all that bad, especially the V2 Standard E-Liquid Starter Kit which is guaranteed to give you pretty much all you need to make the switch. We shall compare the starter kits to other brands to give you an idea of what we are talking about:

Mig Vapor Standard PLUS e-Cigarette Kit at $69.95 – you get the same two standard size batteries and you can choose between automatic and manual. However, they do give you a super power battery as well. They also offer a carry case (white, black or pink), 10 cartridges, a mains charger and USB charger. So you will basically pay $10.00 more, get prefilled cartridges, an extra super power battery, a carrying case and the bonus of free shipping.

When it comes to value for money, especially in the biggest starter kit that you can get your hands on with V2 Cigs, the brand seems to have hit the nail on the head.

V2 Cigs gives you more options than most when it comes to battery length. Not only do you have manual and automatic options for the battery itself, you can pick from a variety of lengths too.

V2 BatteriesStandard Cig – 200+ puffs, 79mm long, 250mAh

Long Cig – 300+ puffs, 110mm long, 380mAh

EX Series – 300+ puffs, 100mm long, 280mAh

When we used V2 Cigs, we found that the Long Cig gave us all day usage, from around 8am when we got up, throughout the working day, a few puffs here and there when we managed to sneak into the back office, all the way through lunch, in the car on the journey home, watching TV and eating dinner that night and right up until we put it in charge before we went to bed. It still hadn’t run out at this point, so who knows how much longer it could have lasted, but the vapor and throat hit were starting to die off a little and we assume this is because the battery was starting to die.

The website states that the longest cig takes around 4 hours to charge, to give you some idea of how long the rest will take, and in some cases, we found that it took longer than that. Generally, charging through a mains charger will be quicker than through the USB port of your laptop and computer, and we would imagine the 4 hours charging time was for when the gadget was plugged into the mains.

If you were to buy a replacement or additional batteries, you will find that V2 Cigs prices aren’t bad:

  • V2 Standard Cig – $14.95
  • V2 Long Cig – $19.95
  • EX Series – $24.95

You also have various color options – white, black, silver, blue or pink. Although mostly the V2 colors are discreet, the pink color is from the Vapor Couture brand which used to be targeted for women.

Although we loved the durability, quality and length of time that the V2 Cigs batteries lasted us, we weren’t all that impressed with the Long Cig when we were using it. It’s quite heavy and a lot longer than we are used to when it comes to e-cigs and we often found that we were waving it around, almost like a magic wand. It was just too long for us and it encouraged odd looks from passersby as we were using it in public places. It just wasn’t subtle enough for our liking, and the fact that we ordered it in a beautiful metallic blue color didn’t help matters with a glowing white tip.

Flavors & Cartridges

CartridgesV2 cigs offer their cartridges in the following flavors:

  • V2 Red
  • Sahara
  • Congress
  • Menthol
  • Peppermint
  • Green Tea Menthol
  • Grape
  • Cherry
  • Chocolate
  • Coffee
  • Vanilla
  • V2 Cola

You will also find them in the following strengths:

  • 2.4% – High
  • 1.8% – Medium
  • 1.2% – Low
  • 0.6% – Very Low
  • 0% – Zero Nicotine

In our experience, the flavors of the V2 Cigs cartridges were impressive, but only for a short period of time. After about an hour or two of using the new cartridge, the flavor seemed to die and although the cartridges were lasting us for almost a full day each, the flavors weren’t so we were getting bored and refilling or replacing them with a different cartridge.

The cartridges are easily refilled and from what we can make out, it wouldn’t void the warranty to refill them as the brand is one of very few that actually offers e-liquid as well. A hair grip or fork easily pops the top off, around 8-10 drops of e-liquid will refill the cartridge, and once you give it a moment to settle down before using it again, you shouldn’t find too much of the rather gross tasting liquid leaking into your mouth.

This is important – we cannot stress exactly how important it is to have a look at the warranty offered by the e-cigarette brand you are going to buy from.

V2 Cigs offers a Lifetime Warranty. By a Lifetime Warranty, they seem to mean a limit of five replacements maximum. 5 replacements is hardly a lifetime. You will find that you will need to replace your battery at least once in the first six months or so of smoking e-cigs. You’ll need to learn how to use it, how to puff properly and on top of this, you’ll be using it more often.

Your warranty will be voided if you tamper with the items – use it in any other way than stated in the instruction manual.

Your warranty is also void if you have gone more than 90 days without making an order – “The V2 Warranty can only be used within 90 days of your last Cartridge or E-Liquid purchase.”

Added Extras

E-Liquid – The good thing about V2 Cigs, and possibly the thing that we love the most, is that you can get your hands on e-liquid, right from the brand’s website. This means that you can save money on shipping by ordering everything from one website at the same time, rather than ordering things from lots of different places – a battery from V2 Cigs, blank cartridges from V2 Cigs (which they also sell), e-liquid from Vapouriz…

The larger 50ml bottle of e-liquid (available in all the flavors that we listed above) will set you back around $30. We were used to paying around $15-20 for a 30ml bottle so this price is actually pretty good. You will also find that they are available in the four same strengths as the cartridges.

Smoke4Free program – When you refer people to V2 Cigs, they give you bonuses back to say thanks. You will get credits that you can spend in store to basically get free stuff, and on top of that, the people that you refer will purchase the V2 Cigs stuff at a discounted price. They get 15% off and for everyone that signs up and buys under your referral code; you will get a $15 voucher to spend on the V2 Cigs website. This is basically enough to get a free packet of cartridges!

In Conclusion

After trying our hands at the V2 Cigs electronic cigarettes, we feel that we can now give it a fair review. We loved a lot of things about this brand – we loved the fact that it was so good looking, sleek, unique, colorful and smart. The packaging was great and we were genuinely excited to use the product once it turned up at our front door.

The prices are great – they work out a lot cheaper than other brands, especially when you take a look at how much you actually get in these kits compared to other starter kits. The loyalty/referral scheme and the offers they regularly send out via email can help to save even money further, which means that this could be one of the best e-cigs to try if you are after value for money.

Despite all the positives, there were a few things that we felt let the side down.

The amount of vapor that was produced when we smoked V2 cigs just wasn’t enough. Definitely not in the same league as Mig Vapor, anyway. On top of that, the flavor in the cartridges died within a few hours which wasn’t a good sign for us. The longer battery was definitely worth it if you have a tendency to always pull one out the charger even when it hasn’t finished charging because the previous one had already run out, but felt like a magic wand when we were smoking it – too top heavy and ridiculous looking to use in public. If you don’t want to draw attention to yourself, this is the wrong e-cig to go for. Of course, this is the traditional V2 I’m talking about, not the EX series. The EX is a totally different story, way better vapor, battery etc.

So, after all of that, we felt that  V2 Cigs is a beautiful product, that’s for sure, but not enough bang for our buck. We’d suggest going for the V2 EX series (instead of the traditional one) if you want a top product.

  1. Customer service is terrible. They have “warrantied products” but you can´t contact them if you need them.
Product gets 3 weeks to arrive even if they have the “next day ordring process” policy.
It is not sell in stores, and if it is (or was) not a whole variety of products.

    Dont recomend

  2. I am very grateful for Vapour2 ecig. First at all it helped me on my journey to quit smoking. I could not stop for ages because i do not why i had the need to hold the cigarette all the time and this ecig had the shape of real cigarette i needed. It has very elegant design, simple usage and good vapor as well. Because it came with manual battery i ordered some automatic ones what are even better.

  3. I placed an order on Sep 4, 2017 with rush shipping and then never heard back. Contacted V2 support within a couple of days to ask for a refund of the rush shipping charge, which they did. Still hadn’t come a few weeks later, so asked for a full refund. At first, they refused, but then said it would arrive in 15 days (this was Dec). It’s now been six months, four phone calls and numerous emails later and they still keep telling me I will get my refund in 15 business days. Bunch of crooks. Do NOT buy V2.

  4. thank you sooooooo much for this product. I have wanted to quit smoking for years and was unable to do it. It decided one day to try the V2 and wow it works great!!!!! I would recommend this product to anyone who is trying to quit!!!!!!

    1. Quite agreed! My first order took forever. After a week, I decided to check the status. “Awaiting Shipment”. Seriously? I emailed them and asked what they were “awaiting” for. I waited 2 days for a response, which never came…and it was still not shipped. I finally used the live chat and the guy said they were behind because of the holidays. It was January so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. It finally showed up a week later. I stupidly placed another order a month later (for an extra battery and a case) and got the same song and dance. So when I needed more cartridges, I found another site called “theeciggy.com”. Much better! Free shipping and I got my order in 4 days! Some time later, I placed another order and got it in 3 days.

  5. I quit smoking real cigarettes after I started using e-cigs. I’ve tried around 50 different kinds and have spent ALOT of money on e-cigs. V2 is now my brand of choice. I love the size, consistency, and menthol e-liquid.

The down side to V2 is the manufacturer quality. The blanks break all the time, the batteries don’t hold their charge, and it takes weeks to receive after you order.

I stick to this brand in hopes they improve their quality because I enjoy the product.

  6. I’m using the V2 Pro Series 3. Nice and sleek. I can put it in my pocket or carry it around my neck in a lanyard. It’s definitely small enough to do so. Good vapor and a good battery life.
Pro 3 and Pro 7 are 3 in 1 devices. This means you can also vape herbs and waxes with the appropriate cartridge. Pro 3 is a very reasonable price at $59. Pro 7 is is over priced at $169 if you only intend to do e-juice but in the pricing ball park if you use it for all three.
Juices are better than good but not great. What IS great is the lab report on the batch of e-juice you are vaping. Everyone should be required to do this and I really hope this becomes a nationwide regulation sooner than later. I’ve restricted my buying to companies who are transparent on what is in their juices. My lungs are too important to just take a companies word on how clean their juice is. Its great that companies state that their labs are ISO certified but I’m not vaping their labs.
Real negative is not being able to choose which flavors to try in the sample packs. It’s either all tobacco or all flavors. I hope they will let you choose what you want in the future.
Customer service has been terrific for the few times I had to contact them. Shipping charges are more than reasonable. They ship quickly except when they become overwhelmed with big promotions and then shipping is only delayed a day or two. Decent rewards program too.
Overall? They are a very good and VERY transparent company and I applaud them for this. You really can’t go wrong if the Pro Series 3 is your first vaping pen. It is VERY good at what it does. They stand behind their products.

  7. Tried several e-cig brands and V2 has been the best. It’s great they have so many choices available – prefilled carts, refillable carts, Pro vaporizer etc. Whatever anyone prefers, V2 has it.

  8. If you still have a desire to smoke cigarettes after trying a ecig then you need more nic or a better ecig. I have been useing ecigs only for the past 5 years and I was a 40 year,2 carton a week smoker of Pall Mall non filter. Not sure what v2 uses for their juice mixes but they come in various mixtures. PG gives you more throat hit while VG gives you more vapor. A good mix is 60% PG/40% VG.

  9. Researched a lot about the V2, read other’s comments about V2 so i bit the bullet & ordered them ’cause i wanted to quit smoking reg cigs ’cause of the smell, the flavor & my sinuses hated them + i know they’re bad for my health. Long story short love ’em! Got the starter kit & I’m ordering more. A+++++++++++++

  10. I have tried several diffrent electric cigs. This is the best overall i am going back to order more lots of vapor long lasting very happy with it

  11. V2 sounds like the best e cig for me, at the age that i am i’m just ready to stop smoking. It not good for me we i know that, I want to live a more and better heathlier life for me and my family.

  12. Great product…not so great company and service. We ordered the v2 products at HT Hackneys April Food show held in Sevierville Tennessee from a distributor there. HT Hackney didn’t have a record of the company even being at the food show and after three calls into the V2 company via the web site can not get anyone to return our calls or give us information regarding wholesale through our distributor. Too bad…

  13. After trying at least 5 different electronic cigarettes, Mike and I finally chose v2s for the best overall value and satisfaction in an e-cigarette. The flavors are pretty good, they’re not as harsh as some of the other e-cigs, there’s a decent amount of vapor, especially with the push-button batteries, and the price isn’t bad at all, really. Considering what we pay for regular ciggs in Connecticut, I’d say we’re getting a bargain with v2s!

We were very lucky to have won a kit from v2 / Vapor Couture in response to an essay I wrote on how much it means to us as a couple to quit smoking and start living healthy. I might not have found out what a great little product they’ve got here. I admit I did like EverSmokes quite a bit having been a Camel smoker – they got the flavor down pretty good, but they were too harsh and a little pricey. I found out that all e-ciggs are probably going to irritate my throat because of a chemical in them – I think it’s ?? propylene glycol??, but don’t quote me on that. There may be an alternative that doesn’t contain this chemical. A more natural product might be the answer for me and others with this sensitivity.

Mike really likes the vanilla flavored ones. V2 Please, please, please make the vanilla cartridges in a 2.4 mg nicotine strength, won’t you? I like the Cowboy, reds for filters, oddly enough. Thought I was going to like the Saharas best but that wasn’t the case. We do appreciate the variety in flavors and hope you’ll try out a few more. How about bubble gum? Or some kind of fruit flavor?

The only drawbacks I have encountered with these: the cartridges do not really last as long as they claim, especially when you find yourself pulling on them 2 or 3 times to get enough vapor for one hit. Second, the cartridges often startle you when they snap & pop when first in use. They don’t seem safe when they do that – I’m always scared one is going to blow up even though they seem well made enough for that to be unlikely. Third, when the cartridges are almost spent they really burn your throat. So even if there’s some left to it, you can’t comfortably use it.

Good points: They came out with a 2.4 mg nicotine strength so my next order should help me to smoke a lot less of the tobacco ciggs when I’m not feeling really satisfied. (I am trying to overcome a pretty heavy smoking habit). Thank you, thank you, thank you, v2! Also, THE BATTERIES CHARGE UP REALLY FAST – THAT IS SO GREAT ABOUT V2S! I never have to wait very long for a fresh battery. The tip light blinks a few times if you need a charge – excellent feature … Finally, I have never had any problems with customer service, my orders, no significant problems with the product itself – nothing that would be a deal-breaker, anyhow.

I truly believe in this company’s products and I do recommend them to friends and family who are fellow smokers. And even to my doctor who is bound and determined to get all his smoking patients to quit. Now, to my surprise, my doctor recommends e-cigarettes as the most promising product for smokers who want to quit – with the hope that there will soon be scientific studies to evaluate this method of smoking cessation. Hurray for v2 and Vapor Couture (with their really great tasting and fashionable e-ciggs for ladies)! Keep up the good work! Thank you, so much! Now we smokers can have our cake and eat it too! And on a more somber note, we have much better hope for a healthy and more enjoyable future.

    Deb & Mike,
    Uncasville, CT
